Drama Society Meets Today

The Drama Society will meet today (Sept 2, 2008) at 5.45 pm in the Central Quadrangle. We are happy to inform that its a 88 member strong society now and more are expected to join, on the spot, in today's meeting. See you there!

Drama Society Registration Opens Today!

Students inclined to join the FET DRAMA SOCIETY should register themselves. The registration will begin on August 11 and will end on August 14.

Dates: 11-14 August, 2008

Time: 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Venue: Computer Lab VI, Ground Floor, Old FET Building

Drama Society and Writing Competitions Approved!

Its official now, as they say.

Dean, FET has approved two proposals:
1. There be a Drama Society (Name yet undecided)on the campus.
2. There be writing competitions (twice a semester). They'll be called Freespeech Writing Competitions and first of them is coming very soon.

We'll keep you update on both of them. Those interested in drama and acting may start contacting me from today itself.

Dr. Rashmi Gaur Delivers a Talk on Februray 23

Dr. Rashmi Gaur of Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT-Roorkee will deliver a talk on Technical Communication Skills on 23.2.2008.

Placement Module in English Language (PMEL) Classes for III rd Yr. Commence from Oct 03!

As a major step towards meeting the placement goals, the PMEL classes for the III year students gets underway from Oct 03. These will be mandatory classes. Every batch of 30 will have four hours of interaction every week and it will involve interview-specific skills' training, discussions, talk shows and drama houses. A brand new study material is reportedly ready and will have texts from Shakespeare to Stephen Hawking in areas as diverse from poetry to science fiction. Time table could be found on the NBs and the important thing is: failing 80% attendance in these classes, one'll not be allowed to appear in the placement interviews.
